Part of a Writing Set, Sponge Bowl
Koloman Moser designed a comprehensive metal writing set in 1903 at the Vienna Workshop. This bowl was made to hold the sponge used to wipe the excessive ink off the nib when writing with a dip pen or to wet the adhesives on envelopes. The design is very simple with only six spheres that support the bowl as decorations. It showcases the aim of the Vienna Workshop to combine functionality and aesthetic design.
