Candy Box
As the most prominent members of the Vienna Workshop, Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann understood their role as a bridge between visual artists and artisans. The punched-in monograms on this box refer to the names of its designer Koloman Moser and the silversmith Josef Hossfeld, who was in charge of the silver workshop. With its roughened surface and stone ornament, this oval box exemplifies the early works of the Vienna Workshop.
