Decorative Handles, Otto Prutscher’s Wine Glasses
The Austrian architect and designer Otto Prutscher contributed to several genres of art including architecture, furniture, and glass work. Deeply influenced by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser, he participated in the Vienna Workshop from 1907. Prutscher designed several wine glasses with long stems in various colors. The glasses were overlaid with colors and polished, and the stems were decorated with geometrical designs. The different shapes of thin, long-stemmed glasses are all well-balanced with simple patterns.
