Lotte Frömel-Fochler, who studied under Josef Hoffmann, was a craftswoman and fashion designer at the Vienna Workshop. Together with Mela Köhler, she designed a large number of wallpaper and fabric patterns in addition to making embroideries. The flower motifs on this greeting card is known as “Eisfuchs” (ice fox) and produced in several colors between 1910 and 1915. Words meaning “Happy New Year” in German and Hebrew are written on the card as it was designed to be a New Year’s greeting card.
