The Magic of Light and Color, Moser’s Flower Paintings
Koloman Moser played a central role in founding the Vienna Workshop and worked in various crafts, including graphic design. However, the Vienna Workshop, whose first aim was to revive handcrafts and artisanship, encountered financial difficulties, and Moser left the group in 1907 as a result of conflicts between its members on the workshop’s running. Afterwards, Moser worked primarily as a landscape painter, trying to capture varying light and colors that reflect the time of the day or the season. Later, he also painted intensely colored still-lifes and flowers.
