Koloman Moser, one of the co-founders of the Vienna Secession, gained respect for his designs for the group’s exhibitions. In 1903, he established the Vienna Workshop, whose aim was to bridge art and daily life by experimenting various materials including metal, leather, glass, ceramic, and graphic design. After he left the Vienna Workshop, he concentrated on paintings with refreshing contrast of colors. Working across various genres of arts and crafts, Moser was a crucial leader in the development of Viennese Modernism.
