Hohe Warte in Wintertime
Carl Moll was a co-founder of the Vienna Secession and enjoyed a close relationship with Gustav Klimt. Hohe Warte in Vienna’s Döbling district was a neighborhood where artists and cultural figures gathered. Carl Moll and Koloman Moser each moved to this district in 1901 into houses designed by Josef Hoffmann. The path between trees leads to a snowy hill, giving spatial depth to the painting. No one has walked across the view yet, and the snow remains untouched.
