Gustav Klimt with Cat
This picture was taken in Klimt’s studio by the painter’s preferred Viennese photographer, Moriz Nähr. Klimt’s affection for cats was legendary, with numerous cats roaming freely in his studios. Moriz Nähr collaborated with Klimt for over two decades and took photographs of the works of the Vienna Secession exhibitions and the Vienna Workshop, both established by Klimt and his colleagues. His pictures serve as important records to Vienna’s cultural history.
